Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data the Climbing Taghia Topo app and website collect and how we use it. The person responsible for your data is Mohamed Mesaoudi, Climbing Taghia Topo, Taghia, Zaouiat Ahansal, Morocco – contact: simomesaoudi1993@gmail.com.

1. Data we collect

• Account: name, email, password (stored encrypted), profile photo, app language.
• Guide profile (only if you ask to be a guide): WhatsApp number, country, city, languages, description.
• Accommodation (only if you list one): name, type, place, price, description, photos, WhatsApp number.
• Verification documents (only guides and accommodation owners who ask to be verified): photo of your licence and of your ID card.
• What you share: routes and their photos, posts, events, comments, reviews, likes, follows, private messages, reports and route suggestions with their reason.
• Points: number of published routes, points and free nights received.
• Technical data: a device identifier and a login token (to keep your account on one phone), date of last login, and the email codes we send to verify your email or a new email.

The app does not collect your location, contacts or payment details, we do not use advertising and we do not use analytics or tracking tools.

Subscribing on our website. If you send a request on the subscribe page of our website, we receive your name, email, WhatsApp number, the payment method and the receipt or reference you choose to send. We use them only to check the payment and activate your account. The receipt is kept in a private folder that only the administrator can open, and is deleted once the payment is checked.

2. Why we use it

• To provide the app: your account, the topo, the community, messages, notifications, weather, guides, accommodation and points (performance of our agreement with you).
• To verify guides and accommodation and prevent fraud (our legitimate interest and your request).
• To keep the app safe: moderation, reports, blocking, one phone per account (legitimate interest).
• To answer you when you contact us.

3. Who can see it

• Everyone in the app: your name, photo, public profile, posts, events, comments, reviews and published routes (shown as “Added by” you).
• After verification: guide profiles and accommodation listings, including their WhatsApp number.
• Only the people concerned: private messages (you and the person you write to); route suggestions and reports (the person who added the route and our team).
• Only our team: your email, verification documents, reports and technical data – used only for the purposes above.

We never sell your data.

4. Services we use

• Our web hosting provider, which stores the app data on its servers, and the email service that sends our emails.
• Open-Meteo, for weather. It receives the coordinates of the place you look at, not your own position.
• Google Play, to distribute the app.
• When you tap WhatsApp, a map, a PDF/GPX file or a web link, you leave the app and the other service's own privacy policy applies.

These providers may be located outside your country. We only share what each one needs to work.

5. How long we keep it

• Account and content: until you delete your account. Routes you added stay in the topo without your name.
• Verification documents: until the verification is done; at the latest, they are deleted with your account or your accommodation listing. You can ask us to delete them earlier.
• Reports: as long as needed for moderation.
• Email codes: 30 minutes.

6. Security

All data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored encrypted. Verification documents are kept in a private folder that only our administrators can open, and they are never shown in the app.

7. Your rights

You can see and change your data in the app, change your email and password in Profile → Edit profile, and delete your account in Profile → Delete my account (or at https://app.climbingtaghia.com/?ctg_legal=delete). You can also ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, or object to a use, by writing to simomesaoudi1993@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the data protection authority of your country (in Morocco: the CNDP).

8. Children

The app is not meant for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version and important changes are announced in the app.
